The guide has been revised to significantly extend the advice on ensuring effective frangible roof joints. Also the guide has been updated to refer to the latest European standards. The guide is intended to assist designers and users of fixed roof storage tanks to carry out detailed evaluation on the need for a frangible roof joint, a weak roof-to-shell connection, for safety purposes.
