EEMUA’s decision to move its May Mechanical Integrity course online has met with an enthusiastic response from our members and others across industry.
There are many challenging aspects of the current situation with the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and EEMUA wants to ensure that as many people as possible still have access to the operational training and learning needed in ensuring the safety, efficiency and compliance of their facilities.
The Mechanical Integrity course helps ensure that site employees are aware of the principals of maintenance of the integrity of plant containing hazardous substances. The online delivery comprises two half day sessions, Wednesday 6 May (pm) and Thursday 7 May (am), with some additional work being asked to be done overnight on the Wednesday.
The online course is offered at a lower rate than usual for the face-to-face equivalent. For further information and to register click here.
The course is based on EEMUA 231, 'Mechanical integrity of plant containing hazardous substances: A guide to periodic examination and testing', which was developed and written by EEMUA and the Safety Assessment Federation (SAFed) in consultation with the UK Health and Safety Executive’s (HSE) Hazardous Installations Directorate. The publication forms the foundation for EEMUA's mechanical integrity training at the Awareness and Practitioner competency levels.
