EEMUA is monitoring the global development of Coronavirus Covid 19 and is following public health and Government advice in relation to staff welfare, business continuity and how the virus may affect the organisation during the delay stage.

With the recent designation of the outbreak as a pandemic by the World Health Organisation (WHO), and the increasing travel restrictions imposed on members, customers, and stakeholders worldwide, we are implementing new measures. The goal for EEMUA will be to continue its mission of enabling engineers worldwide to share experiences, learn, and solve problems, whilst considering the safety of everyone involved.

This will be aided by our recent investments in online learning and communication systems.

  • The Ageing Electrical Equipment seminar on 26 March will be made “online only”. This will now be a free event for all attendees, but you must still register. We are confirming available presenters and will announce a revised schedule imminently. If you wish to attend, please register through the website. We will send joining instructions and timing for each presentation. If you have paid to attend, we will be contacting you over the next few days to arrange a refund.
  • The EEMUA 159 TankAssessor course due to be held 20 April in the UK will be made online only. There will be a reduction in fee for this. The examination will be held at a separate date, arranged with attendees individually, in locations as local to them as possible. Those who have booked, and wish to attend a classroom course, will be able to book a later date, or receive a refund.
  • The EEMUA 159 TankAssessor course in France on 16 March is being rescheduled. Candidates registered on this course have been contacted regarding refunds.
  • The EEMUA 159 TankAssessor course in Germany on 30 March will be rescheduled. It is run by TUV SUD, and they will advise on arrangements for this.
  • The Mechanical Integrity Practitioner Certificate (MIPC®), as an online course, will be unaffected.
  • All EEMUA technical committees and working groups during March and April will switch to online meeting format. The Technical Executives will be in touch with members to advise details.
  • The status of the May Mechanical Integrity course, the Mechanical Connectors Seminar, May TankIntro Course, and the May Council meeting will be advised before the end of March.
  • The only hard copy version of an EEMUA publication that is currently available is EEMUA 186. Downloadable digital pdf versions of the majority of EEMUA publications are available from the EEMUA e-shop - these are provided free of charge for EEMUA corporate members via the Knowldge Centre.
  • The EEMUA office will switch to minimum staffing, with most employees working from home, most of the time. We will still ensure your enquiries are routed to the most appropriate person to answer them. Internally we have policies and technology in place to cover this, and ensure the safety of our staff and their loved ones to the best of our ability.
