An operator’s perspective on ASME B31.3 post weld heat treatment exemptions

Location:

Via webinar 12:30-13:30.

Date(s):

9/3/2016

Summary:

ASME B31.3 2014 no longer requires PWHT (post weld heat treatment) on carbon manganese steels if you apply a decent level of preheat. Have operators' efforts over the past 30 years been wasted? This presentation will address the changes from an offshore oil and gas operator’s perspective, and the issues it raises with regards to existing process pipework and future projects.

The MTC will also be contributing to the update.
