Written Scheme of Examination (WSE). A Written Scheme of Examination (WSE) is a document containing information about selected items of plant or equipment and its protective equipment which form a pressure system, operate under pressure and contain a ‘relevant fluid’ under PSSR or more broadly a hazardous substance under EEMUA 231 and 232. It is used to define what integrity inspections and tests are required, when and how frequently, by whom, and how the results should be reported. It also specifies what preparatory work needs to be undertaken for the examination to be carried out.
