The Industrial Control Systems Cyber Emergency Response Team (ICS-CERT) report for 2015, which has recently been published, identifies the six most commonly encountered cyber security deficiencies in industrial systems.

Boundary security is identified as the most common failing – following the recommendations in EEMUA’s concise Industry Information Sheet (free download) would significantly reduce an organisation’s exposure in each case. Furthermore, another of the six most common deficiencies is training and awareness of staff – security good practice is something for the whole workforce to buy into.

Promoting awareness of the risks and how to deal with them is one of the key aims of EEMUA’s cyber security seminar, which is being held in Solihull, UK, on 8 November 2016.

The EEMUA seminar should be of interest to all those involved with industrial control systems and the business continuity of the industrial plant and process. The event is a benefit of EEMUA membership, meaning delegates from member companies may attend free of charge.
