We have developed links with the Career Transition Partnership (CTP) which supports Service leavers from all ranks with resettlement into civilian life, offering expert advice, training, digital tools, events, and job opportunities. Employers gain fully funded recruitment support with access to over 14,000 skilled individuals annually, while training providers help leavers upskill as recognised Preferred Suppliers. Together, CTP unites personal support, employers, and training providers to ensure a smooth transition. Learn more on the MOD CTP website.

Skills in Transition: How UK Service Leavers Can Power the Nation’s Economic Future
We’re pleased to share the latest report from the Career Transition Partnership (CTP), produced in collaboration with global labour market intelligence leader Lightcast.
This research explores how the skills gained during military service align with current and future labour market needs. Key insights include:
- Exceptional transferable and technical skills Service leavers bring to the civilian workforce—and the challenges of translating these into civilian language.
- Strong alignment with growth sectors such as clean energy, advanced manufacturing, and digital technologies, including in-demand skills like automation and risk management.
- Practical steps for employers to support Service leavers’ career progression, building on military-acquired strengths with specialist civilian competencies.
The report also provides regional analysis across the UK, showing how Service leaver skills match local industrial priorities. Commissioned by Reed in Partnership, this research complements our work as the official provider of resettlement services for the Armed Forces.

CTP also hosted a webinar with Lightcast to explore the findings and share recommendations for employers.
