STEMboots is an initiative by EEMUA, created to make STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) more accessible, inclusive, and grounded in the real world.  As a membership organisation that serves as a trusted voice for users of engineering equipment and materials worldwide, we believe that STEM is for everyone—and it’s everywhere.

At EEMUA, we believe that STEM is not only the foundation of engineering but also the driving force behind global progress and innovation. By investing in the next generation of STEM talent, we are helping to build a more inclusive, skilled, and forward-thinking workforce.

What We Do

We bring STEM to life through engaging, relatable content across social media platforms—focusing on:

🛠️ Day in the Life: Follow real engineers in action—from water treatment plants to wind farms.

🧪 Everyday Engineering: See how STEM solves everyday problems, from bridges to packaging.

🧭 School and Organisational Outreach: Practical outreach activities that connect industry with education.

What We Have Done - Outreach 2026

Anthony Gell School - Careers Week - Spaghetti Challenge

Students created the highest tower, each group had 25 spaghetti strands, limited blue tack and tape, applying engineering thinking through planning, building and testing. The variety of towers and ideas were amazing, lots of creative brains at work …

Wootton Academy - Year 11 Employment Workshop

The Year 11 workshop saw high levels of student engagement and interest in STEM pathways, with positive, meaningful discussions throughout. Feedback from both students and employers was extremely positive, and the success of the session has created interest in future collaboration with the school and partners.

KS3 Student Climate Change Summit

At the summit, STEMboots engaged students in discussions on climate sustainability and introduced a range of STEM careers that contribute to environmental and societal outcomes. Students demonstrated strong engagement, ambition, and creative thinking throughout the session.

National Physical Laboratory (NPL) - STEM collaboration project

A STEMboots visit to NPL was highly successful, generating strong interview content with scientists and engineers for joint social media outreach, and impactful letters of encouragement now being used directly with students. Discussions also progressed a potential STEMboots x NPL collaboration for 2026, with a low‑barrier, scalable “Best STEM Sticker” competition emerging as the preferred option to engage schools and young people nationwide. Further details are being developed with NPL.

STEM Racing UK London Regional Finals

We were proud to serve as a judge at the STEM Racing UK London Regional Finals, where students showcased impressive real‑world engineering skills. Supported by Formula 1, the programme helps young people turn theory into practice and see engineering as a career they truly belong in.

Get involved with STEMboots

Whether you are a STEM Ambassador, educator, or STEM organisation, there is a clear role for you within the EEMUA STEM community. We work with trusted partners across education and industry to create meaningful opportunities for engagement, inspiration, and real‑world insight. You can connect with us through our outreach channels, collaborate on campaigns, attend events, or learn more about how EEMUA supports industry and future skills.

STEMboots supports ambassadors and educators by providing industry‑led content and engagement that helps young people understand where STEM subjects can take them — and how they can become the next generation of innovators and problem‑solvers.

Through purposeful outreach, engaging STEM campaigns, digital storytelling, and a strong social media presence, STEMboots helps young people see themselves represented in engineering and wider STEM careers. The initiative moves students beyond observation into active participation, building confidence, capability, and aspiration — and enabling them to play a meaningful role in shaping the future of industry, technology, and society.
