Use of cookies on the EEMUA Portal

What are cookies?

Cookies are very small text files that are stored on your computer when you visit some websites. A cookie will typically hold:

1. The name of the website that it has come from.
2. How long the cookie will stay on your computer or phone.
3. A value – usually a randomly generated unique number.

How long do cookies stay on a computer?

Session cookies – these only last until you close your browser. They are not stored on your hard drive. They are usually used to track the pages that you visit so that information can be customised for you for that visit.
Persistent cookies – these are stored on your hard drive until you delete them or they reach their expiry date. These may, for example, be used to remember your preferences when you use the site.

What you can do to manage cookies

You can accept or refuse cookies. Accepting cookies is usually the best way to make sure you get the best from a website. Most PCs automatically accept them but you can change your browser settings to restrict, block or delete cookies if you want. Each browser is different, so check the 'Help' menu of your particular browser (or your mobile phone's handset manual) to learn how to change your cookie preferences. Many browsers have universal privacy settings for you to choose from.

Privacy Statement:  How EEMUA uses Cookies

EEMUA uses cookies to help identify your computer so that we can tailor your user experience, track shopping basket contents and remember where you are in the order process. You can disable any cookies already stored on your computer, but these may stop our website from functioning properly.

EEMUA needs to use cookies in order for the EEMUA online shop to operate correctly. We need to do this in order for the EEMUA Portal to:

1. Remember what is in your shopping basket.
2. Remember where you are in the order process.
3. Remember that you are logged in and that your session is secure.  You need to be logged in to complete an order.

We also use cookies for a limited number of other purposes. Though not absolutely necessary for correct functioning, allowing us to use cookies will provide you with the best user experience and also tell us (anonymously) which pages you find most interesting. Additionally, you will be able to set and retain personal preferences and profiles and use the Portal more securely. In order to give you the best user experience we need to use cookies to:

4. Track the pages that you visit. This gives us valuable information about how to improve the pages and content on the EEMUA Portal.
5. Allow you to share pages with social networks such as Facebook.

Please be assured that EEMUA will never share any of your personal information with third parties.
