Global influence

EEMUA's activities help facilitate good practice within organisations across industry and international borders. Here are a few examples of how we do this:

Easily accessible e-learning

A suite of awareness level e-learning modules covering a variety of industrial engineering topics can be accessed from anywhere in the world at any time.

Engineering guides, handbooks and other publications

EEMUA guidance outlines pragmatic, safe-working methodologies, and is referred to by regulators across the globe as an exemplar of good practice. International standards bodies, such as the ISO and IEC, have frequently incoporated EEMUA guidance into formal standards, or adopted EEMUA publications in their entirety as new standards. EEMUA publications have been purchased in countries all over the world, including Argentina, Azerbaijan, Canada, Germany, India, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Turkey and the USA. EEMUA publications are available in digital as well as printed versions enabling individuals to access guidance no matter where they are located.

Training and competency courses

The core competency of employees, contingent workers and contractors is vital to the safe and effective operation of industrial plant. Our training and competency schemes play a key industry role in developing and testing the knowledge, understanding and competency of workers. The courses are recognised around the world as cost-effective ways of teaching both techniques and processes that can be immediately applied in real situations to improve asset management. Courses are delivered both online making it easily accessible and face-to-face in countries like Belgium, France, Germany, Netherlands and the UK in the associated languages.

In-house training courses

EEMUA understands that 'one-size-fits-all' training programmes aren’t always the best option when organisations are facing specific problems or challenges. This is why EEMUA works each year to deliver bespoke, tailored versions of our established training courses at a company’s site or office. Over the years, courses have been delivered in France, Greece, Malaysia, Martinique, Netherlands and the UK.

Membership

Through its broad range of activities and its members’ breadth and depth of engineering expertise, EEMUA helps improve the safety, efficiency and compliance of industrial facilities located worldwide. Details on joining EEMUA is available here.

Participation in standards committees

EEMUA is active nationally, in Europe and further afield in the development of standards that are applied worldwide. EEMUA’s involvement and influence in this area provides immense benefit to members, as well-defined standards promote quality and consistency and ensure that plant can be operated optimally for the long-term.
