The 8th Edition of the Practitioners Guide has seen, in addition to a broader review, an alignment with the technical changes brought about by the 6th Edition of IEC 60079-14 and IEC 60079-17. Paul, as Technical Director at CompEx (and project lead) will provide an insight into some of the key amendments and changes.

Paul Hague is Technical Director at CompEx Certification Limited and has nearly 40 years’ experience in explosive atmospheres, spanning installation, inspection, maintenance, hazardous area classification, consultancy, training, certification and technical governance. His background includes senior technical and operational roles supporting ATEX/DSEAR compliance, hazardous area inspection programmes and the application of international standards across UK and international industries. At CompEx, Paul has been closely involved in the development and review of CompEx qualifications, including Ex12 and Ex14 Responsible Persons, and represents CompEx and EEMUA on technical committees and industry groups including EXL/31/3 committee. A regular contributor to HazardEx and chair of the annual HazardEx Conference, Paul brings a practical and standards-led perspective to competence and hazardous area safety.
