Presentation title: Panel session: I’m a user – what does this mean for me?
Presentation abstract/summary: This panel session will provide an opportunity for the main review panel to offer their own thoughts on the review process and some of the key changes and how they may impact users of EEMUA Publication 186 A Practitioner's Handbook for potentially explosive atmospheres.
Speakers: Paul Hague - CompEx; Danni Wiseman - Forth Valley College; Michael O'Brien - ExVeritas/Jones Engineering.
Paul Hague Bio: Paul Hague is Technical Director at CompEx Certification Limited and has nearly 40 years’ experience in explosive atmospheres, spanning installation, inspection, maintenance, hazardous area classification, consultancy, training, certification and technical governance. His background includes senior technical and operational roles supporting ATEX/DSEAR compliance, hazardous area inspection programmes and the application of international standards across UK and international industries. At CompEx, Paul has been closely involved in the development and review of CompEx qualifications, including Ex12 and Ex14 Responsible Persons, and represents CompEx and EEMUA on technical committees and industry groups including EXL/31/3 committee. A regular contributor to HazardEx and chair of the annual HazardEx Conference, Paul brings a practical and standards-led perspective to competence and hazardous area safety.
Danni Wiseman Bio: Danielle Wiseman (Danni) is the CompEx Centre Manager at Forth Valley College in Scotland. She has over 25 years’ experience working within explosive atmospheres. Which includes training, installation, inspection, design and consultancy. Danni’s background includes being the Responsible Person for a large distillery company, creating Verification Dossiers and producing Intrinsically Safe DSD’s. She supports CompEx with various course and literature development and she is the manager of one of the oldest and busiest CompEx centres. Danni trains and assesses their full suite of CompEx courses and she was the first female worldwide to become a CompEx trainer.
Michael O'Brien Bio: 50+ years’ experience working in Potentially Explosive Atmospheres in a wide range of industries. Chair of the NSAI ETC-TC06 National Technical Committee for Electrical Installations and equipment for use in Hazardous Areas. Member of the I.E.C. & CENELEC TC31 Committees for Standards Development (Electrical equipment for use in hazardous areas.) Member of the I.E.C. MT 60079-14, 17, 19 & 44 Maintenance Teams.
