As the world's oil and gas reserves become ever more depleted, companies are exploring production in more remote locations and deeper waters. The pressures, temperatures and compositions of the produced fluids and the seawater environment, place substantial demands on materials of construction. Intervention costs increase significantly in deeper waters and inspection and monitoring for equipment integrity become more difficult. The industry has witnessed some expensive materials-related equipment failures which all practitioners can learn from. Delegates will be able to learn at first-hand from the experts in leading operating companies.

The Subsea engineering course is recommended for both discipline and project focused engineers from a variety of backgrounds who want to gain an understanding of the fundamental principles for selecting and specifying materials of construction for subsea equipment, and for corrosion control during deployment, commission and operation.

The course is based on the EEMUA User Guide to subsea materials selection, EEMUA Publication 194 and operated in association with the Society for Underwater Technology (SUT), which is an international learned society that promotes the development, dissemination, and exchange of ideas, information and technology arising from, or related to, the underwater environment. A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to candidates who complete the training. For further details, please see the course brochure.

Permanent employees of EEMUA & SUT member companies, as well as Individual members of the SUT, are entitled to a discount off the standard course fee. If you believe you qualify for the SUT Individual or Corporate member discount, please click relevant link at the top of this page, which will take you to a new page. From there you can click the Register button and your discount will be automatically applied. To check availability on courses, or for any other queries, please contact EEMUA Events at, or call us on +44 (0)20 7488 0801.

Training documentation, certificate, complimentary copy of the Third Edition of EEMUA Publication 194, plus refreshments and lunch on 3 days is included in price of the course. VAT is also included. Accommodation, at discounted rates, can be reserved on application.
