The content of the EEMUA Mechanical Integrity Practitioner Certificate (MIPC®) course has been approved for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) by the Society of Operations Engineers (SOE), a Professional Engineering Institution licenced by the Engineering Council, whose members inspect, maintain, and manage machinery and equipment.

Through short, focused and manageable online training tasks over 27 weeks, the MIPC course provides mechanical integrity practitioners with an enhanced, up-to-date view of mechanical integrity challenges, trends and opportunities. Tailored to each Learner’s industry sector and site/s, the MIPC course optimises learning experiences and outcomes by blending online activities, Tutor and Mentor support, and an enterprise-quality learning platform.

MIPC is built to help deliver the competencies that industry looks for in a mechanical integrity professional. It empowers practitioners to combat the causes of losing primary containment of hazardous substances.

The SOE CPD Assessment Committee were impressed with what the MIPC has to offer, describing the course as an “excellent initiative”. Head of Online John Lilley, who led the assessment process for EEMUA, said: “It is great to see the EEMUA MIPC receiving such recognition from a highly regarded engineering institution. It is testament to the hard work put into the course by the MIPC Technical Panel (of EEMUA member companies), Tutors, Assessors, Learners and the EEMUA Executive over several years – not just in creating an innovative blended online learning course but also keeping the focus on continuous improvement for each cohort of students coming onto the course”.

Registration is open for the next MIPC course, which starts in September 2022.

Over the past two years, the SOE has approved for CPD the EEMUA one-day Mechanical Integrity training course, confirming that it offers clear learning outcomes with high standards and measurable results, and the complete suite of EEMUA online e-learning, which includes the Mechanical Integrity e-learning module.
