This week the EEMUA team are in Italy attending the Gastech Conference and Exhibition in Milan (9-12 September 2025).
EEMUA is an Association Partner of this global event for natural gas, liquified natural gas (LNG), hydrogen, climate technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) in energy.
EEMUA Operations Director John Lilley is chairing a panel session (10.00-11.00, Wednesday 10 September) of the conference programme: ‘From data to decision: leveraging artificial intelligence to optimise supply chain resilience’.
AI has the potential to revolutionise supply chain resilience by transforming vast amounts of data into actionable insights at an unprecedented pace. This enables businesses to anticipate potential disruptions, streamline decision-making processes, and enhance both operational and cost efficiency.
However, in order to harness the full capabilities of AI, businesses must continuously develop and integrate machine learning, automation, and predictive analysis – including digital twins – to dynamically respond to sudden or unexpected disruptions caused by evolving geopolitics, climate change and market volatility. Additionally, as AI and supply chains become more interconnected, cybersecurity must be a priority to safeguard critical infrastructure and protect sensitive data.
By embedding AI into organisational logistics and operations, how can businesses transition from reactive to proactive supply chain management strategies to build long-term resilience in an increasingly complex global landscape? These trends, opportunities and challenges will be explored in the panel session.
John will be based on stand P72 at the exhibition (courtesy of Tank News International and Storage Terminals Magazine) and is looking forward to meeting attendees and discussing how EEMUA can help to improve the safety, environmental and operating performance of their industrial assets.
